Loren Wiseman's PDF Products

This is my first venture into the world of e-commerce. I'm trying an experiment with these products -- I'm assuming that my fans want me to continue writing material for them, and are willing to pay a reasonable price for them. I am, therefore, not locking the PDFs so people can search them and adjust them for their own use in private games. If you want to extract (for example) a deckplan and print it out as a handout for your players, do so with my blessing. Shift things around a bit to suit your own game, change the names to protect the innocent, adjust things to your own individual style, add your own subtle touches to adapt the product to fit your game.

In return, all I ask is that you not sell or give copies of these products to anyone else, and that you encourage other people to buy their own copies directly from me or from the vendors I've authorized to sell them, so I can pay my rent and continue to create products for you to use and enjoy.

They are available only through (alphabetically) DriveThruRPG, e23, QLI, and RPGNow, but I'm looking into offering at least some of them elsewhere.

Traveller

I have concluded a license arrangement with Marc Miller to produce Traveller-related PDF products. I will be concentrating my efforts on deckplans (spacecraft, etc.), floorplans (space stations, ground based installations like starports or startowns), and short adventures -- the sort of thing that has some demand but which are not economically feasible in a paper/print medium.

The ship's boat is a small vessel ordinarily carried to perform odd jobs and minor operations for a larger ship or deep space installation. This book contains five variants on the same basic design, and includes deckplans (scaled at 1/2" = 1.5 meters) and game ratings for Classic Traveller, MegaTraveller, and GURPS Traveller.

In addition to the standard, unmodified ship's boat, this book details:

    • The lifeboat variant, carried by such starships as the Bastien-class subsidized Liner, and equipped with emergency low berths for 48 passengers.
    • The System Transport variant, used for short trips within a star system.
    • The VIP variant, used to convey nobles, executives, or high government officials in comfort and style.
    • The ramshackle Belter variant, used for deep space prospecting among the planetoid belts of hundreds of star systems.
Price: $1.85 for 8 pp.

Subsidized liners are common in the more settled areas of charted space, where there is a constant demand for passenger traffic and the spaceways are relatively safe. This book contains four variants on the same basic design, and includes deckplans (scaled at 1/2" = 1.5 meters), game ratings for Classic Traveller, MegaTraveller, and GURPS Traveller, and several adventure seeds.

    This book details:

    • Bastien-class liners, with an internal small craft.
    • Stellar-class liners, with an external small craft.
    • A customized yacht variant, for a roomier yacht than the 200-ton variety.
    • A mercenary light cruiser variant, slightly smaller than the 800-ton version.
Price: $8.00 for 44 pp.

The 20-ton launch is among the smallest general utility craft in common use, manufactured in many configurations throughout known space. This publication deals with nine common variants (including an armed version -- the 20-ton gig). This book contains nine variants on the same basic design, and includes deckplans (scaled at 1/2" = 1.5 meters) and game ratings for Classic Traveller, MegaTraveller, and GURPS Traveller.

In addition to the standard, unmodified launch, this book describes:

    • The Lifeboat variant, carried by small merchant starships, and equipped with emergency low berths for 24 passengers.
    • The Liaison Launch, for use as a mobile office/headquarters by business magnates or military officers.
    • The Survey Launch, used by scientific missions and bases.
    • The Search & Rescue variant.
    • The Hunting Launch, carried by yachts and safari ships.
    • The Retail Launch, used by retailers in remote areas as a mobile "general store."
    • The Estate variant, used by managers of large plantations, factory farms, estates, and wilderness preserves.
    • The Gig (Armed Launch).
Price: $2.00 for 11 pp.

The 40-ton pinnace is a common utility craft found in most systems throughout charted space, manufactured by a variety of companies in numerous configurations. Practically any shipyard can undertake modifications to the basic pinnace and the individual variants are almost without number. This book contains four variants on the same basic design, and includes deckplans (scaled at 1/2" = 1.5 meters), game ratings for Classic Traveller, MegaTraveller, and GURPS Traveller.

    This book details:

    • 40-ton pinnace, standard configuration.
    • 40-ton pinnace, passenger configuration.
    • 40-ton pinnace, cargo configuration.
    • 40-ton pinnace, tanker configuration.

General RPG Floorplans

There are quite a few of these already on the market, but I plan on doing floorplans for buildings from a wider selection of historical periods. Also, I will add a few extra items to make the gamemaster's job easier, like the sort of things you find in a particular craftsmans shop, for example, and how they do their job. What will you find in the desk of a clerk in a western American railroad hotel ca. 1920? How much does it cost to stay overnight at a 2nd Century AD Roman Mansio?

Before private aircraft, the private railroad car was the ultimate emblem of status, prestige, and power. They enabled business magnates, movie stars, and the wealthy and well-connected to avoid rubbing elbows with the hoi polloi while traveling. The first example is based on a car built for a railroad president 1916. It remained in service (with occasional repairs and improvements) with the original owner until 1935. This floorplan is suitable for pulp adventures, Call of Cthulhu scenarios, and any other RPG or miniatures game set in the first third of the 20th Century. It might be used by a wealthy patron, a millionaire businessman, a politician, a celebrity, or a well-connected mad scientist. Both floorplans are presented at 1/60th scale, or 1/5" = 1 foot.

In addition, this book describes a Mobile Headquarters car, suitable for use by a well-equipped band of adventurers or soldiers of fortune.

This represents a small hotel in a small town near a railroad or riverside in the first decades of the 20th Century. This floorplan is suitable for pulp adventures, Call of Cthulhu scenarios, and any other RPG or miniatures game set in the first four decades of the 20th Century. It might be used by any financially-challenged team of hard-boiled private eyes, occult investigators, or "on-the-lamb" fugitives.

Miniatures Related Products

I've been a "lead pusher" for years, and I've worked on a number of miniatures rule systems. I plan on producing scenario books for Frank Chadwick's Command Decision, (with Frank's blessing, of course) and generic scenarios for a number of periods -- my first one will be from WWII in the Pacific, a subject that is one of my major interests. And, who knows . . . maybe I'll do a few simple rule books of my own.
