Space: 1889

Adventure in a more civilized time! I think this is one of the best backgrounds for a game GDW ever came up with, and I am overjoyed that Heliograph is bringing the game back in facsimile editions (the smaller page-count books are being printed two up in a single cover). The game starts with the assumption that Thomas Edison invented interplanetary travel in the mid-19th century, but everything proceeds pretty historically from there. Space: 1889: The book that started it all. For all practical purposes, this book started the Victorian SF craze in gaming, or at least it's most recent resurgence.

Cloud Captains of Mars & Conklin's Atlas of the Worlds: Cloud Captains deals with adventures among the most flamboyant freebooters ever to sail the skies . . . of Mars. Conklin's Atlas sets the stage for adventures on Mars, Venus, Mercury, the Moon, and, of course, the Earth. Two books bound back to back.

Sky Galleons of Mars & Cloudships & Gunboats: Both of these were boxed games originally, and all that is included in this edition are the rules. Two books bound back to back.

Ironclads & Ether Flyers: These are the miniatures rules for naval and aeronaval combat in the world of Space: 1889, but they can be used for historical actions of the period as well.

Tales from the Ether & More Tales from the Ether: These are two collections of adventures created for use with Space: 1889.
