Rex Stout: I was given my first Nero Wolf novel for Christmas by my sister-in-law, Linda (who enjoys mysteries also), along with several other paperback mystery novels. The inside cover of the novel had a list of other books by the same author printed by the same publisher, and a quick stop at the library card catalog (they were not computerized back then) led me to the others. It also showed me that Stout had written many other books in the same genre, but dealing with detectives other than Nero Wolf.
